My Elementary School 96 Words
I went to elementary school in Hong Kong, It is called Chinese Methodist School (North Point). I believe that is a place that should be preserved. This school teaches about Christianity as well as other general classes, such as math and English. It was established in 1964, when the Methodist Church merged to form the Hong Kong Methodist Church. I spent most of my last two years living in Hong Kong going to this school. I had many fond memories in this school, like sharing lunch with my friends or hanging out with my friends after class.

I always have mixed feelings about religious schools- I admire the community for dedicating themselves to education, but in many of those communities, there is a certain level of unfortunate bias.
ReplyDeleteI like how you chose a place that was familiar to you and somewhere that has a piece of your childhood.
ReplyDeleteI think you should have described why the school is special besides the friends and the classes (Every school offers that!). Maybe give school a little imagery. What did it look like? Were the buildings modern? old? State some of the fond memories you had!
Overall, I am glad you picked a place where you had fond memories!
Be more descriptive with emotional words and values. And go into depth with those friendships!
ReplyDeleteI learned something new from your blog, so thank you for that. I think you should have been more descriptive, to create a setting for the reader to relate to. It would have been nice to see a little more details. Overall, I am glad you have great memories from your school back in Hong Kong...I glad you can still remember elementary school!
ReplyDeleteI check out the link and saw the the school is very beautiful. No wonder you like it! On the other hand, you should not include the word count in your title though.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was very young my family moved to Great Britain and I attended school over there for a few years before we came back to the US, so I can relate at least a little bit about wanting to preserve your elementary school. I know it's probably impossible, but I think adding any pictures of you there, or scans of old documents from the school would have been a great addition.
ReplyDeleteI really like the place you chose. I think you could put the word count at the end of the blog instead of in the title.
